Hahaha, that´s cool! I forgot to say the name of this party here, we call it "DEBUT" or "Baile de debutante." We also have the traveling thing, a lot of girls like to go to Disney and things like that. It´s big. We also have some higher social group that group a lot of 15 year old gilrs to have a big party and to "show them to the society" or something like that!

Let´s see if some Canadian share some info with us!

Thanks!

Oi Ricardo. It's very interesting to see that you guys have this in Brazil too.

This type of party is a little similar to the ones we have in Mexico - called "Fiesta de Quinceañera" - except that in Mexico the Quinceañera has a few boys called "Chambelanes" (not necessarily 15) dance with her. Many like to ask their friends who are Cadets in the military, because thety wear their uniforms. hehe... I guess girls like that..
Some Quinceañeras may also have "Damas", which would be her girl friends.. And the parties go on until the early hours of the morning too.

Many girls also choose to go on trips or "Quinceañera" themed cruises instead of having a big party. This is big business in Mexico.

Other Latin American countries have similar traditions.

Perhaps others can tell us what happens in their countries.

Abraço,
